Made by Me May - Day 8

It's so great to have my Mr home.  I've lived on my own in the past, but it's not the same.   I moved out of home when I was a couple of months off twenty, and actually flatted with my brother on and off for years, the last time being with him and his then fiancee, now wife,  while they awaited the birth of their first child. They kindly (jokingly) offered me the garage for when my room became the nursery, but I set out on my own for the first time and Loved It.  I was on my own on and off  for years. I think it was good for me and believe everyone should live on their own at some point in their lives, even if only for a short time.

Now on to the refashion.

This is a cute little top I scored free from the paint shop, a charity shop that specialises in paint remnants. But they have a massive pile of clothes that I love going through from time to time. On this occassion they had all clothes free. As you can imagine I left with two very large bags full.  It probably would have been more if the Mr wasn't waiting very patiently in the car.

I cut the top part of this top off as I wanted to have a go at a skirt I have seen popping up on a few blogs.
I don't have any during photos but below is the front view after I had used some material from my stash to make an under skirt.

And here is the back view. You can see all the ruffles of the underskirt exposed and overskirt with button detail at the top.  Both pieces were sewn together and elastic added at the waist.

I Love this skirt and will definitely be making more.
